Audie Murphy
Most decorated U.S. soldier of World War 11, Audie Leon Murphy ended up in Hollywood after 1945, and turned into a fine actor. Mr. Murphy made 44 movies, and 33 of these were Westerns, including: "Kansas Raiders" (1950); "Gunsmoke" (1953); "Drums Across The River" (1954); "Destry" (1955); "No Name On The Bullet" (1959); "The Unforgiven" (1960); "Posse From Hell" (1961); and his final release, "A Time For Dying" (1971). Audie Murphy's war efforts were best recounted in his book, then film, "To Hell And Back" (1955).
