Alias Smith And Jones
ABC-TV Western series (1971-1973), starring Pete Duel (Hannibal Heyes / Joshua Smith), and Ben Murphy ("Kid" Curry / Thaddeus Jones). Pete Duel was found dead from a gunshot wound, in his apartment, on Dec. 31, 1971. Roger Davis, who had been the narrator for the episodes, stepped into the role as Hannibal Heyes, and gracefully pulled off a difficult task: taking over from a deceased and popular star! Make no mistake, however, regarding the real star of "Alias Simth And Jones": Pete Duel was the glue that held the series together. NOTE: Standout episode for the series was "Smiler With A Gun" (Oct. 7, 1971), with guest-star Roger Davis giving a stunning performance as Danny Bilson (who steals gold from his 'partners', Pete Duel, Ben Murphy and guest-star Will Geer.
